The Law of Abundance is Not About Attracting Stuff

by manualforliving   //   Connection

As a culture, we have so much to be grateful for, and although as a society we are more prosperous than the majority of the global population (many of whom struggle even for clean water), we are often never short of complaint.

The truth is that most of us have more than enough money to live joyful lives and provide for our families. But rather than choosing simplicity, we choose physical over spiritual abundance, a larger mortgage over our emotional well-being. We choose more STUFF over more PEACE.

We make decisions that force us to perpetually sacrifice. As a result, we not only provide less of ourselves to our loved ones, we become less as a result.

Many of us are driven to succeed for our ego, for our pride – and even for the thing we warn our children against so often – peer pressure. We find it eternally difficult to achieve balance and fulfillment when making decisions from the pettiness of our being.

What can we change? We can literally begin to eliminate the choices that take us out of balance, allowing us to make decisions that enable our happiness and a quality of life we can share with those we love. We need a healthy balance between our requirements and our desires. THIS is where a new journey starts.

This is today’s question: What is the one thing you can change this week, today, right now to move you away from material slavery and into full participation with life and those you love? If you’ve got an answer that would inspire others, post it to my Facebook Wall and let others be inspired too.

"After receiving this book I dove right in and began...in the beginning it all felt a little dorky, writing down goals and listening a video of someone I knew nothing about. And I would find myself too caught up in other things to do a daily exercise, a mantra and a meditation. After missing a day or two, I would simply start right where I had left off. In about three weeks I noticed how I actually found myself curious and looking forward to what was next. And by then I had also noticed I liked the way I was \"processing\" or thinking and feeling about things through my day as a direct result. I went back and did another Inventory as well as rewrote or expanded my goals. Watching a daily video online, writing in this programmed guidebook and also adding in the daily meditations...all just flow through me so easily now. I am happy to say, it is working for me ……. and I\'m very glad I stumbled across the text and now this Guidebook." - Murshid Library Thing

"Our ability to grow and expand, to be present for transformation, is one of the most amazing gifts of this life. We may feel frustrated when working externally toward the goals we seek does not seem to bring them any closer." - Chernoff - CONNECTION
