The Law of Abundance is Not About Attracting Stuff

by manualforliving   //   Connection

As a culture, we have so much to be grateful for, and although as a society we are more prosperous than the majority of the global population (many of whom struggle even for clean water), we are often never short of complaint.

The truth is that most of us have more than enough money to live joyful lives and provide for our families. But rather than choosing simplicity, we choose physical over spiritual abundance, a larger mortgage over our emotional well-being. We choose more STUFF over more PEACE.

We make decisions that force us to perpetually sacrifice. As a result, we not only provide less of ourselves to our loved ones, we become less as a result.

Many of us are driven to succeed for our ego, for our pride – and even for the thing we warn our children against so often – peer pressure. We find it eternally difficult to achieve balance and fulfillment when making decisions from the pettiness of our being.

What can we change? We can literally begin to eliminate the choices that take us out of balance, allowing us to make decisions that enable our happiness and a quality of life we can share with those we love. We need a healthy balance between our requirements and our desires. THIS is where a new journey starts.

This is today’s question: What is the one thing you can change this week, today, right now to move you away from material slavery and into full participation with life and those you love? If you’ve got an answer that would inspire others, post it to my Facebook Wall and let others be inspired too.

"We are also living a faster-paced life than ever before, where our privacy has been eroded beyond all conception by mobile phones and social-networking, and the requirements for us to succeed within this complex society have never been greater. Manual for Living: Reality offers us the opportunity to step away from that complexity and bustle, and understand what really matters. A timeless wisdom that is more relevant these days than ever before." - Andy Lloyd Book Review
